Sens.Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln will agree for a health care reform bill, who says the bill marks a milestone in providing health care to millions more Americans and on a low note for Republicans who say it is a colossal mistake. The measure is expected to pass in the face of unanimous Republican opposition, barring last-minute surprises. If it does pass, the bill will come out next year with a health care bill passed by the House before a final compromise measure is been sent to the president for signing. Pryor was part of a small group who negotiated removal of a proposal to create a government public health insurance option. That irked liberal Democrats, but obama who supported the public option on the campaign trail last year says he would sign a health care bill that doesn’t include it, as long as the bill meets other goals. Lincoln said she persuaded senate leader to increase tax credits by$14 billion to help small businesses afford health coverage for their employees. Lincoln announced a separate deal under which Baxter regional Medical Center in Mountain Home and seven other Arkansas hospitals would be spared cuts in Medicare the federal health insurance program for seniors, while the government figures out how to control the program’s rising costs.
