Study Highlights Danger Of Texting While Driving, Auto Insurance

Every body knows that using cell phones and texting while driving have caused serious accidents in the past. Young people who are aged between 19 and 23 use the communication devices behind the wheel. This practice has caused serious accidents to other people on the road and the auto insurance rates would also increase as a result of this. A recent study has demonstrated that people who are used to texting when they are at the wheels are prone to accidents six times more than other people. This startling fact was known from a driving simulator test. Youngsters were made to take the test at the simulators and they were texting while driving. When an emergency situation occurred it became that their response was too slow as they were busily engaged in texting. Similar results were shown for the cell phone users also. This is because the attention of the driver is entirely diverted to texting and he would not be in a position to respond to an emergency situation quickly. As texting distracts the attention of the driver completely at least 3 states have banned texting from January 2010. AAA has also demanded that texting should be banned all over the country.
