Kansas Regulators: State’s Auto Insurance Rates Among Lowest In U.S., Auto Insurance

The state of Kansas has ranked for the last five years among the states that have the lowest rates in the country for auto insurance. A vehicle in Kansas would be charged on an average $579 for an auto insurance cover. This included only liability cover and not a comprehensive cover or a collision cover. The lowest auto insurance rates are reported in the state of Dakota where the residents pay on an average $512. The average cost of a policy that covers liability, and also provides comprehensive cover and collision cover is $743. The rates differ from state to state for various reasons. The state where accident rates are low and car thefts are low would have a lower rate for auto insurance. Similarly a state where medical costs are low for attending to accident related injuries and where the repair charges are low for repairing the damaged cars the auto insurance rates would be low. A state where the traffic is very dense on the roads and where the population is high would attract a higher rate of auto insurance. The state law that requires a minimum liability cover for a vehicle would be one of the chief factors deciding the rate of auto insurance.
